Marlene (N) They had their special forces, SOLDIER. Those are troops injected with cells from Jenova, an ancient being that fell from the skies long ago, nearly destroying the Planet.

Marlene (N) One of SOLDIER’s most powerful was a man named Sephiroth. But once he discovered the terrible experiment surrounding his birth, he came to hate Shinra. And as time passed, he came to despise the whole world.

Kadaj Mother has granted me an amazing power. A power to exact vengeance on this cruel Planet. Each of you has it too, for we are all brothers and sisters. We’re the chosen ones, chosen to receive Mother’s remnants, stirring in the Lifestream. But… the Planet doesn’t like our power. It wants to keep us from growing up. It breaks our hearts and racks our bodies with pain.
